
Delivering funding for Rockland
Bringing money from Albany back to our district is one of Elijah’s top priorities. In just two years, Elijah has fought for and secured over $13 million in dedicated state funding for Rockland County local governments, fire departments, ambulance companies, libraries, and non-profit organizations.
Here’s some of the highlights of the funding Elijah has brought back for us:
Over $1.5 million for local fire and EMS departments including fire departments in Congers, Nanuet, Pearl River, Piermont, Sloatsburg, Spring Valley, Suffern, Valley Cottage and Tappan and EMS providers including Chaverim of Rockland, Congers-Valley Cottage Ambulance Corps, Hatzoloh, Haverstraw Ambulance Corps, Nyack Community Ambulance Corps, Pearl River Ambulance Corps, Rockland Paramedic Services, South Orangetown Ambulance Corps, Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps, William P. Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps
Over $5 million for local governments in Rockland including every town and nearly every village. The money Elijah secured is paying for park upgrades, equipment for local highway departments, police equipment, and much more. Highlights include:
Clarkstown- New sidewalks in West Nyack, new pickleball courts at Germonds Park, new sidewalk snowplow for the town Highway Department, renovations at the Old Stone Meeting House in Upper Nyack
Haverstraw- Funding for new sidewalks in Garnerville and road paving in West Haverstraw, renovations to the Haverstraw Center in the Village of Haverstraw
Orangetown- A new kids splash pad and exercise stations for adults at Veterans Park in Orangeburg. New DPW vehicles for Nyack and Piermont, repairs to the Erie Rail Trail (Hader Park) in the Villages of Grandview and Piermont.
Ramapo- A new command van for the Ramapo Police Department, roof repairs and renovations to the village halls in Chestnut Ridge, Montebello, Pomona, Suffern, and Wesley Hills. New DPW/street cleaning/snow removal equipment for Kaser, New Square, Spring Valley and Suffern. Funding for new sidewalks in Chestnut Ridge and New Hempstead. Repairs and improvements to parks in Hillburn and Sloatsburg.
Over $700,000 for facility upgrades at local libraries in Haverstraw, New City, Nyack, Pearl River, Piermont, Sloatsburg, Spring Valley, Suffern, and Valley Cottage
